As in the successful first edition, the author provides a description and history of SPC along with an analysis of how it is applied to control quality costs, producttivity, product improvement and work effiency. Several important changes and additions have been made in the second edition: A new chapter on the "Tools of Quality" provide a complete explanation of the seven basic tools, an improved discussion on the nature of control chart has been added; and a complete rewrite of most of the text to better facillitate an understanding of current tends in quality managment.
