SCM America Weler Chucks for Miling & Drilling
Why the Weler Chucks?
The Weler Chuck is the most versatile chuck available in the market place today! It is recommended for precision nishing, drilling, reaming, thread milling, and rough milling in axial and radial applications. The Weler Chuck can accept any cylindrical shank tool with or without ats or notches and maintain the high clamping force. Axial adjustment positioning of the tool can be made with the positive stop set screw. The Weler Chuck is designed for the nose nut to be tightened to the positive stop. THERE IS NO GUESSING!
The typical bearing milling chuck has 150-200 ft/lbs of clamping force and .001 to .002 of runout. Good only for milling. The needle bearing milling chuck does not have the concentricity for drilling. The typical hydraulic chuck has 200-300 ft/lbs of clamping force and .0001 to .0002 of runout. Good only for drilling and very light milling. Heavy radial forces will damage the hydraulic holders bladder which is costly to repair. The only product available in the market place that has better clamping force and a runout combination than the Weler Chuck is the shrink t system. The Weler Chuck is the only system that has suf cient clamping forces for heavy milling and the concentricity for drilling operations along with the exibility to hold multiple shank sizes.
